About Reedy High School Colorguard
How Do I Join?
Show up on Monday(November 17),Wednesday(November 19) and Thursday(November 20 from 5:00pm-6:30pm in the Reedy High School Cafeteria. Come in athletic clothes. We will give you a flag to start learning and we will show you the routine. It's that easy, show up and be open to learning.
Can I bring a friend? Absolutely, if your friend is going to attend Reedy High School in the 25-26 school year, bring them with you. This audition is open to any student attending Reedy High School for the 25-26 school year.
What is colorguard?
Colorguard are the students that perform with the marching band at half time during a football game. The colorguard is part of the band program. We travel and compete as part of the Reedy High School Marching Band. The colorguard has been successful in the past and we are looking to keep our award winning tradition moving forward.
Do you like to perform?
Have you ever been in a play? Have you ever been in a choir? Have you ever danced at church? Awesome, you will probably love colorguard. We perform at all Reedy football games. We also compete in marching band contest around the metroplex.
I don't know how to spin, dance, or perform? That's alright, we will give you all the tools, technique and equipment you will need to be successful.
What are the benefits for joining colorguard
You will receive fine arts credit for joining the colorguard class AND you will receive a PE credit waver. What does that mean? You will fulfil two graduation requirements for one class.
Want to make new friends?
Colorguard members are very welcoming to our new members. You will gain new friends within hours of joining colorguard. Many of our members started out not knowing anyone in colorguard, now some of them are best friends. You will make long life friends that you also get to perform with at football games.
I'm Scared
Every member of the colorguard was scared when they first started. After a couple of minutes you will realize that everyone at the audition wants you to succeed. The colorguard cheers for each other while we are practicing and learning. You will love it if you give colorguard a chance. You can always bring a friend with you to audition to help get over your fears.
